HOW TO RECTIFY OUR FAULTS AS QUICKLY AS POSSIBLE
Caller: Master, when we realise our weaknesses, how do we rectify them quickly?
Master Jun Hong Lu: Take for example, if you give in to lust or sexual misconduct easily, you must be determined enough to stay away from lewd reading materials and lustful men or women. You should restrain yourself from any contact with them. If you tend to fall into monetary trap easily, stand firm and avoid coming in contact with money. Restrain against what you are weak at, just like how an alcoholic should stay away from alcohol.
Caller: What about the three poisons of greed, hatred and ignorance?
Master Jun Hong Lu: As for greed, hatred and ignorance, say for instance, if you are someone who is overtaken by greed when you see things, you should stop browsing through the shop windows and avoid going to shopping centres.
Caller: What about our attachment to self?
Master Jun Hong Lu: As for self-attachment, you should read more books and change your line of thoughts. In order to change your state of mind, you will have to study Master’s series of books — Buddhism In Plain Terms.
Caller: Should we recite more Heart Sutra too?
Master Jun Hong Lu: Yes, that will help you to gain wisdom.
