HOW DO WE DIFFERENTIATE BETWEEN TRUE BELIEF AND DELUSIONAL BELIEF?

Master Jun Hong Lu:
All of you must bear in mind of the following key characteristics of true belief:

No. 1 – it should guide us to be inclined to kindness.

No. 2 – its aim in cultivation is to uncover our true nature (innate nature) and to eliminate greed, hatred and ignorance.

No. 3 – it is able to help liberate sentient beings from ignorance and delusion for it to be considered the true dharma.

In fact, one of the ways to define the true dharma is having the right understanding of the dharma method which should enable you to gain an awakening and realisation. With realisation, you will be enlightened and attain Buddhahood. This is why Guan Yin Bodhisattva is also known as the ‘True Dharma Brightness Tathagata’. To attain Buddhahood, true Buddhist teachings will have to be at the core of one’s being.

You must cultivate with the aim of uncovering your innate nature and eliminate greed, hatred and ignorance. You must find a Dharma Door that is able to help liberate sentient beings from ignorance and delusion, one that is able to guide us to be kind at all times.
