DO NOT BE A SLAVE OF YOUR DESIRES
Master Jun Hong Lu: As humans, we should never enslave ourselves by falling to the temptations of carnal desires – what you desire enslaves you.
If you desire money, you will exert yourself at work and learn to earn as much as you can. If you like a woman and she says, “I can marry you, but you have to buy me a large house”, you will toil excessively hard and gladly become her slave.
True liberation comes from within our heart; wisdom is only attainable when there is awareness of the truth. A person who can fully liberate himself is deemed to be on the right path of Buddhism practice.
