ADDITIONAL DAILY RECITATION WILL BRING HUGE MERITS

Question: A Buddhist practitioner recites 108 times of the Great Compassion Mantra and 168 times of Heart Sutra for his Daily Recitation, and he feels very good about it.  Master Lu, may I ask if we can keep increasing the recitation of the Great Compassion Mantra and Heart Sutra?  If so, how should we decide on the number of recitation?  Can we increase it to, say, 108, 118, 128 times and so forth?

Answer: You should complete your Daily Recitation, say, 108 times.  Once you have exceeded this amount, simply continue on – you don’t have to keep track on the number anymore. The merits accumulated will be huge.  To illustrate, if your Daily Recitation is 49 times, the additional recitation will score you ‘bonus points’ at an escalating rate. (Thank you, Master Lu.)
