IT IS NOT ADVISABLE TO USE ONE’S PORTRAIT AS PROFILE PICTURE ON SOCIAL NETWORK

Question: Master has advised against the use of the landscape painting meant for the Buddhist altar as wallpaper of our computer, because of the risk of undesirable content in the computer. What about using a picture taken with us standing in front of such landscape painting as a profile picture on WeChat (an instant messaging app)?

Answer: It should not be a problem, however, it is best not to use your own portrait. Instead, use a background picture like the scenery shots in the film, in which there is no people, only landscape or flower. Trouble tends to arise if one’s face is in the profile picture, as one may run the risk of having a curse placed upon them by someone.
