LET FEEDBACK BE THE SPIRITUAL FERTILISER THAT NURTURES YOUR CULTIVATION
Master Jun Hong Lu: Learn to repent and listen to others’ opinions, because their words of advice is your true guide on your journey of life.
Remember every word your Master says, for each one is a helpful life advice from me.
Often, we believe we are in the right, unaware of our own mistakes. It is only when others point out our shortcomings that we begin to realise the truth. The moment you make an effort to change for the better, a perfect person is born.
It is, therefore, important to heed others’ opinions and take them to heart. Learn to be like an ocean that embraces the flows of countless rivers, and learn to behave like the rice stalk—the taller it grows, the lower it bows its head.
Think about when we prostrate, aren’t we lowering our head? Didn’t we do this to receive the compassionate blessings from the Bodhisattvas?
When we bow to others, it is because we hope others will offer us more guidance. Likewise, when we are courteous to others, they will look at us like a sage, and they will respect us even more. This is called mutual respect.
