DO NOT MAKE NOTES ON THE BUDDHISM IN PLAIN TERMS BOOK

Question: I dreamed that I was holding a foldable card of the Eighty-Eight Buddhas Great Repentance with a line of wordings written by me in black. I thought to myself, “Master Lu has mentioned before, it is alright to write notes in the Buddhism In Plain Terms books, but not on Buddhist scriptures.” While I was having this thought, the Eighty-Eight Buddhas Great Repentance card in my hand suddenly caught fire, and its ashes dropped into the little yellow incense burner on the small Buddhist altar. What does this dream mean, Master?

Answer: The Buddhism In Plain Terms is a book of treasure and it’s a form of Buddhist scripture too. Hence, refrain from making notes in the books in the future. Bodhisattva is not agreeable to such doings now.
