(Master Jun Hong Lu’s call-in radio program)
HOW SHOULD WE DETERMINE WHETHER WE ARE BEING OVERLY ATTACHED TO THINGS
Caller: During regular discussions of issues amongst Buddhist friends in the practice group, differing opinions may surface. In the case where either one or both parties insist upon their viewpoint, is that considered to be having attachments?
Master Jun Hong Lu: Yes, insisting on one’s viewpoint is indeed a form of attachment. One should learn to act in accordance with conditions instead.
Caller: How do we determine if we are being overly attached in our undertakings?
Master Jun Hong Lu: Regardless of whether one’s undertaking is good or bad, they are considered as being overly attached to things while they remain fixated on their idea.
Caller: I understand.
